When you think of famous leaders that were instrumental in establishing peace within the world, a few come to mind off the top of my head. Nelson Mandela helped to end apartheid in South Africa. Gandhi peacefully fought for the civil rights of Indian citizens against British Rule. Now, it’s time to add another name to that historic list.
Up until now, no sitting US President had never met with a North Korean leader. In a history lesson that could be easily understood by a 5 year old, the US and North Korea don’t like each other and it’s been that way since the Korean War. For decades, America has been looking to meet with North Korea in order to establish peace instead of instigate a nuclear war. With no signs of hope, America turned to a 5-time NBA Champion, a 7-time All-Defensive First Team member, and a man who married himself, Dennis Rodman.
Last night, Rodman talked with Chris Cuomo on CNN about his friendly relationship with Kim Jung Un and how he hopes for peace between the United States and North Korea. What a world we live in.
I can’t get over this. Then again, it is 2018 and anything can happen. Just think. If a peace agreement is signed between the United States and North Korea, Dennis Rodman will have to be mentioned in school textbooks for years to come.
“Christopher Columbus, Marco Polo, Dennis Rodman.”
