Miko Grimes is one of the most popular athlete wives in the NFL, as the husband of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Brent Grimes. She has been in more than a few incidents over the years. Appearing on The Breakfast Club this week, Miko spilled the tea with accusations against the Oakland Raiders locker room that ended up with having Derek Carr get injured.
“(Carr) was against (the offensive line) protesting. And they had a fight in the locker room before that Monday night game with the Redskins. They were fighting in the locker room, and that’s the only all-black offensive line in the NFL is the Raiders.
“Derek Carr is a bible-thumper to the fullest. And so he was basically trying to force the players to read the bible before the game, and do all this stuff and they were like, ‘No, that’s you.’ And so he was so upset about it, when the whole offensive line said they were going to kneel, he was like, ‘No, you’re not kneeling. This is America, you’re going to stand for the flag.’ And they got in a fight in the locker room, so when they came out to play, they basically had a plan.”
Grimes said that the offensive line purposely let Derek Carr get sacked a season high four times in a blow out loss in Washington. Before the contest, she said a riff was over the Raiders offensive line’s planned protest of the national anthem, which the religious Carr was not having. Check out the clip below.

Donald Penn, who protects the quarterback’s blindside, hopped on Twitter this morning to discredit the claims made that a plan was in place to purposely injure Carr, who suffered a fractured back in Denver the following week. The left tackle tweeted, “It’s crazy how people will make up lies and tell a story so false and untrue 2 get them some attention I hope it was worth it all lies.”

When I brought the story to one of my good friends, a die-hard Raider fan who has watched every snap of Carr’s career, he doesn’t see any merit in the story and believes Grimes is going for her five minutes of fame. What he does believe, is that the offense doesn’t have faith in new Offensive Coordinator Todd Downing, who only got the job because of his relationship with Derek Carr. Former O.C. Bill Musgrave was questionably let go after last season, where the Raiders were 7th in the league in scoring and Carr enjoyed a career year before getting injured.
