Very, very cool moment right here. Every person that has ever succeeded needs motivation and right here was Julian’s. 10 years ago, Julian Edelman was the star Quarterback at Kent State, where he was setting total offense records left and right. That being said, the odds of him playing QB at the next level, let alone even making a team, were not very good. You don’t get a lot of 5’10 QBs from the MAAC in the NFL. It’s always a good time to break out these numbers when it comes to making the NFL, just to prove how hard it is to actually “make it.”
1.5% of players from the NCAA to the NFL and you’ll be lucky to get three years out of it. That’s not even counting all of the guys that last less than three years. Some might only last a few days in training camp. It’s extremely difficult and for a guy at Edelman’s size, it’s damn near impossible. Making the NFL from a non-traditional school after having to change positions in order for teams to look at you? Yeah, right. Not happening.
This is going to sound cliche as fuck, but it goes to show you that if you work your fucking ass off, anything is possible. It’s stories like these that remind me just how hard you have to work to get what you want in life. No matter what you do, there’s always going to be someone coming for your spot. Someone who wants to work harder. Someone who is more talented. Work 100x harder than your competition and you have a shot to make it. Big tip of the cap to Edelman.
Ok, that’s enough motivational speaking for the day. I could never do this on a day to day living. Too much positivity for me. I have to go back to hating the Pats now because the Giants have a Super Bowl to win.
